Marieke van der Giessen

Marieke is involved in strategy, change and transformation processes at a wide range of companies. She has many years of experience in designing and facilitating change and leadership programmes, including 11 at De Baak. In 2011 she established her own company GiessenCo. At De Baak she gained three years experience as a manager.

Marieke studied business economics and found further inspiration in a two-year course in Gestalt therapy. She has developed and facilitated change and leadership programmes and an executive coaching for SMEs and (multi)nationals like Oracle, Van Gansewinkel Group, ABN AMRO, Boskalis, Ampelmann, Signify and LBC Tank Terminals.

Marieke likes to create a context that allows those involved to find their own answers and solutions. There are several ways to achieve this, including dialogue and seeing things from various different perspectives. Looking through someone else’s eyes will broaden the perspective and enhance both the question and the solution. Clients are challenged to learn from their own clients, employees, artists, professionals, other generations and experts from other sectors.

The last word goes to Marieke’s clients who describe her as someone who “quickly gets to the essence of matters,” and has an “empathy for and interest in the further development of people and organisations”. They also say that she is inquisitive: “Marieke asks questions like no other” and down-to-earth: “Marieke focuses on the issues that really matter”.

Marieke is living with her husband and daughter in Baarn. City's, theatre, music, biography’s and art are an inspiration for her work.
